XP 2600+ is it 266 or 333??

well you might check the chip itself assuming you don't have the retail box. and the 2600+ even if it is a 133fsb it should be able to do 166. If it can't then it is definatly a 133 but it should be able to do the 166.

That has more to do with the motherboard... I've owned 7 different AMD CPU's in the past 3 years... and I've built many other AMD based systems for friends, familiy, etc. and never had a problem with the CPU being recognized. The only time I would ever expect trouble is when you're using a motherboard that doesn't officially support a processor... like putting a 333 Mhz bus processor in a KT266 chipset motherboard.
