Running win xp, tried this cpu in 2 mobos won't go above 108 fsb. Using ddr2700 in one board, new maxtor hard drive, however the vid card is a cheapy agp 32ram tried a 16 pci card too. I have a decent vid card on order wondering if this will get this cpu working? The other board crucial 133 ram, xp operating, cheap pci vid card. I'm wondering if it is the poor quality vid cards that are holding this bad boy back Does that make any sense?
thanks

maybe you got some cheap bootleg ram. or a bad board OR check and see if you capasitors on your mobo are bursting.

vid cards won't do it. bad drivers will, or bad installation of same. if the other mobo run 133/266 normally, then I'd look at cooling or the proc itself.🙁

wrong. in these cases, it's almost always the fault of the cpu or mobo. It looks like you figured out the mobo wasn't the problem. I'd rma the chip if possible. AMD has a good rma support.

Cooling really isn't an issue unless you're approaching 60c. And drivers? what? Probably not the issue at all.

Either way, good luck.
