XP 1800+

Ok so I haven't kept up with all the CPU news,etc. I have an Athlon XP 1800. Are there different versions of this processor? How can I tell.

yeah, 2 different ones: Palomino and Thoroughbred (tbred) A/B

download wcpuid and look at the top #'s of Family, Model, and Stepping ID.

if its 680, then its tbred a
if its 681, then its tbred b
if its anything else (i dontrememerb pally cpuid off hand) then its palomino

i think the pally's CPUID is 660

Just so you know, here is how they rate as far as overclocking:

Palamino< Tbred A < Tbred B

I think Palomino is Model 6 while TBred is Model 8.
