Just picked up this:

Tbred 1700+
JIUHB0302MPM
(person I got it from was running it stable @ 2.3g (12.5*184 @ 1.85v)

And I figure that it will surpass my MP which seems to be stuck at ~1870g (11*170)

My only concern would be running that 1700 @ 1.85v for the rest of it's life? any thoughts on that or on this change in general?

It will probably do 2.2gig @1.75volts. Just back it off a bit and enjoy what would still be considered an incredible overclock.

I think 1.85V is fine. Your 1700+ isn't the low voltage version and you have good cooling.

if you got some good ram, i'd try 11.5 x 200.. wait.. you do... i'd even try 220 then :)

Shimmishim,
You should know, it's your 1700 ;)

That's good enough for me! a steady diet of 1.85v it is.

What would you reccomend for memory settings / Voltage? I am using the "Turbo" or 2-2-2-5 settings and standard voltage right now. Anything else I should be looking for to get the most out of this baby?

ps. 11.5*220=2,530...Now that would be impressive! A mere 1,060 overclock. Wonder if my ePoX will handle the 220? Guess we'll soon find out

[evil genius] 220 hmmmm, yes, yes...Mwahahahahahaha [/evil genius]

Cheers!

the t-breds haven't been around long enough to know how higher voltages will effect them. however, i imagine that if you don't plan to keep it for the rest of your life that 1.85 is gonna be fine for you.

True enough. In the last 8 months I have gone from a 1.4 T-Bird to a XP2000 to my current MP2100 which is soon to be replace with this XP1700 B...

Still not as bad as Shimmi though... ;)

There must be some type of help group I can join:D

I just set up a new box yesterday, and was thinking about the 1st AMD cpu I bought right here on AT forums about 2 years ago.

It was a unlocked Duron 650 @1000, got it from Compuwiz for $85.00....man it was the shtzzz.

The cpu I put in yesterday was a retail 1700XP JIUHB 0310 WPMW, $60. from NE running at 2104 mhz @ 1.5v with the retail HSF.

we have come a long way from OCing celron 300As and K6-2s

I like it.....
