xp-120 + fan thoughts pls

I currently have an slk-948u on my cpu.
I am considering getting the xp-120 for a little more airflow with a little more quiet.

As far as I can tell it is one of the best sinks around.
Has anyone done any recent research on good 120mm fan with hi flow, low noise to mount on it?

Thanx

The 120mm 103 output panaflo fan seems like a really nice package to go with it - and they include an option to order it right along with the heat sink. (Don't forget the 3 or 4 pin power connection tail - need to check that too - and thermal paste, if you don't have any)

Though the main page on that company states that the ownership is on hiatus as of 7 in the morning tomorrow (the 29th) - IE after 7 in the morning on the 29th - they will no longer accept orders - but if you order it between now and then - your order will be shipped.

The 150 cfm delta is a powerful fan..but I wouldn't go with it if you want low noise...

Not quite sure - don't have a lot of knowledge on fans in the sense of having used a lot. I do know that the 120's can push more air with less noise as a result, while smaller fans (like stock heat sink fans) have to spin faster to push the same amount due to being smaller, and hence probably a little louder. I think Zalman sells their fan controller for a few dollars if you're worried about noise.

Would you say that panaflo would be quieter than the stock fan? Or should i get a fan controller?

There is no stock fan. Personally I would just stick with your SLK, if its too loud just get a differant fan for that.

I was referring to the factory fan/sink combo, if the panaflo and xp-120 would be loudert or quieter. I am not too worried aobut noise, as the stock fan is quiet enough for me, just want better performance, but I must say having a freezing ass room has helped my temps a lot of the sotck sink/fan.
