XOR switch for LAN/dialup modem question

Has anyone use the XOR switch?

We want to separate our LAN from analog modem lines and one possible solution was the XOR switch. Is it a box sitting next to your computer? Will it "hot switch" so you don't have to log in and out (to reconnect to your LAN).
