I have seen that the Xm lineup seems to be a bit stronger in the world of big name dance music. So I am leaning that way.

Can anyone speak to sound quality? Or is it about the same?

Well, I can tell a difference in sound quality with my older JVC Sirius unit and Alpine headunit. It's not as good as CD but sounds better than FM radio IMHO. However, there's not much bass at all.

I've got the JVC hooked up to my Alpine using RCA cables into the AUX input.

I'm still extremely happy with Sirius.

Hmm OK. Most likely i am going to be Fm modded (that is how most of the add-on units for cars work right?). There is not an option for inputs on my stereo.

Pick the one that has the channels that you like better. The sound quality is just about the same, so listen to their online stations to get a feel for what you like better. I personally have XM, but I only went that route because of the price difference, which is non-existent now.
