No idea about the XM thing, never appealed to me.

We do have Slacker. We started with the 4.99 service then wanted to be able to play songs on demand and create playlists and such so we moved up to the 9.99 plan. It works, but is best used for a single person. They lock down their streams to basically 1 IP so the wife and I can't be in two places using it. And even at 1 IP address, their streams get a little "wonky" playing the same songs sometimes over and over again if 2 steams are going into one household.

We keep it around because I haven't found a similar service with as good of "radio" features, but I would jump ship if something better came along.

Also, their Roku app sucks.

Just an FYI, for those of you that think satellite radio is overpriced, the $15\month packages can usually be had for $5\month with coupons. Check out slickdeals.

I do, it came with my Mazda and then I renewed it. Mostly because FM has gotten terrible around here and it's too much of an annoyance to constantly deal with my phone to get content. Much easier to just get in and listen to ad free music, especially since I do a lot of short drives.

Sound quality greatly varies. I've noticed on more popular channels it can get worse the more people on, however on something like Altnation it seems better. I'd never really thought about it until I looked into the rates it's pushing down. Also some cars do try to make it better, the Mazda has a setting in it's menu about that although I've no idea how much it helps. It's not great, but it does the job really.

Funny... I'm one of those guys who doesn't care about Howard Stern and just wants the music stations :)

That's probably a good thing, since I'm on the super cheap "5 months for $25" promotional plan which doesn't have access to that station.

Are you sure? When I was on that plan I wasn't limited at all. Now I'm on the 12 months/ $79 plan and it's the same service as full price, except I have to call once a year to demand that price.

Only thing I'm missing is internet/smartphone app streaming and there's no way I'm paying extra for that
