$10 for basic channels, specialty channels are extra, I don't even listen to radio, but who the heck is gonna pay for radio? Sure it can be ultra clear and commericial free, but its still radio.

I just spent 16.5 hours in the car driving from IN to Houston and the $12.95/month I pay for Sirius is worth every penny.

It's all about perspective I guess. I wouldn't pay $5/month for TV yet some people pay over a hundred.

I've seen XM/sirrus capability on the high-end $300 and up car stereo, but don't see any home recievers with it, so I guess its targeted at the mobile crowd?

I probably would never pay to listen to the radio but I would do that before I paid to watch TV. So many channels and there's still nothing decent to watch.

My brother is graduating highschool on Saturday and then moves into the dorms at UT Austin on June 1st for summer session.

The entire Sirius setup only cost me $170 installed. It is an additional deck (sort of a deck) that sits below my main deck. The entire unit is FM modulated and the $12.95/month covers all 100+ channels.

I listened to my friend's Sirius and liked it for a while until he played my kind of music and I noticed how "swishy" it sounded, like a bad mp3 rip. I didn't like it anymore after that.

Radio sucks now. Clear Channel has destroyed it. The only radio I can listen to anymore is our college station which actually plays what they want to play and takes requests.

So $10 a month for quality radio isn't that bad. Especially if you drive a lot.

I wouldn't mind paying the $10 a month for XM Radio, but the antenna and all that other crap I'd need to buy is just not worth it.

The last review I read of the two was in Car and Driver. They said the quality of Sirius was definately worse than XM.

Wow, someone would have to be pretty damn desperate to get that...

Depends on how long you drive every day. My brother-in-law has an average of a 1 1/2 - 2 hour commute every day (that's 1 way) so for him it's worth it. The comedy channel alone is enough to keep you from killing the idiot in front of you that just doesn't know how to drive.

They said the same thing when cable came out. "Who's going to pay for television when we already get it for free?"

If you market it, they will come...or buy it.

I have XM - for Road trips it is great. I did 15 hrs straight from Denver to Phx and it made the trip go a lot faster.

Like someone mentioned, the comedy channel is worth the $10 alone.

not only that, my kids enjoy the disney radio on XM, making trips less stressful. ditto on comedy channels also. I'm glad i took advantage of that $50 coupon last year and another $60 rebate, saved me $235 all in all.

People said the same thing about TV once, too.
