My buddy kind of got me to get far cry 4 on the PS4 rather than the PC (his rig can't touch it, while mine can push it > 60 fps at max settings) So that we can play COOP. I can't aim worth shit on the controller so I bought the XIM4. Wow. Saving grace. works like a charm, and actually, far cry 4 is easier since the controls are dumbed down to just a few keys now!

When I tried the XIM3 with the 360, it definitely seemed to help quite a bit, but it still felt a bit... wonky. The main issue is that regardless of whether you're using a mouse, it is still being translated into joystick movements. So, the mouse movement felt a bit "mushy". Although, it definitely made playing Call of Duty with a friend a heck of a lot better.

Xim4 might be different... Feels like there no lag at all. Though far cry 4 is only 30fps. Coming from a steel sensei + corsair k95

Used to use one of these (not this one) with my 360, while its no mouse/keyboard its a huge improvement for us gamepad challenged PC guys. For me it took me from mid pack player in most FPS to top almost all the time, felt unfair almost. There are some odd issues, gamepads have a fixed turn rate, that takes quite a bit adjustment for a PC player who is used to being able to Jump and do a 180, or go from looking straight ahead to looking straight up in a blink. In the end I would recommend for a PC players trying to get into gamepad/console stuff. But its a crutch, you use it, and get used to it, it would be even harder to go to a gamepad later.

I've used XIM products ever since they came out and they've improved upon them with each interation.

When we first got our XIM3's, they did feel 'mushy' and kind of 'slow'. Did some reading and worked on the calibration and figured out that if you didn't go by the instructions on setting the DPI of the mouse in Windows before connecting to the XIM, it did indeed feel 'mushy'. We looked up our exact mice we were using and set the DPI in Windows accordingly and had a much better experience. It is almost unfair the advantage it gives and there was a point in time we could join any game and it didn't take long to tell if there were any others in the game that were possibly using a XIM as well. Some of the movements you're able to pull off with mouse/kb combination on a console are ridiculous compared to controller alone.

With that being said, the XIM4 is another refinement...and for the better. If you're stuck having to console FPS games like I am in some cases, get one...you won't be disappointed.

maybe i'm just too casual.. I'm using my wireless logitech kb+mouse and it works amazing on far cry 4. My pc is setup with a mech keyboard and a steel series sensei mouse bundled witha func surface XL. The no lag feature is what i'm most happy about. Plus I can adjust the sensitivity on the mouse settings in the manager. I turn up the sensitivity in game on the look movement to the max, and it definitely helps everything. Now it feels like a PC game!

This was my experience. I was trying it with Halo 4 shortly after it came out. It worked "okay" but it seemed that I wanted to spin the character faster than the XIM3 or the game allowed. I ended up selling it to a friend who has gotten a lot more use out of it than I would have.

Just got a Xim4....and while not great, it has helped me A LOT. Worst game I had on COD:AW was 11-11...best game I had was basically 25-8 or something like that. The small maps still lead to random deaths, and some key combos just are weird still (jetpacks in a direction mean tapping shift. I'll get used to it.)

But I instantly became better at COD, given controllers and I don't get along. Now for a new desk...and maybe a fancy game pad thingy to replace my keyboard.

Maybe I don't do the 180 turns a lot... I turn fairly averagely... but definitely not competitively! The aim is what I'm after. I have my sensitivity on max on the game, and pretty high in the xim manager!

My mouse is currently a Sidewinder X8 at 4000DPI & my hip is 120...not fast enough for me. :)

I haven't played CoD on console since MW2 (for a very short time) and CoD3 until AW, and AW's controller setting out of the box was quickly adaptable for me, BF4 on the other hand, I had to really mess with the settings to get it right for me and tried to copy the feel from AW but the motion blur and random stuttering really screws it up for me with BF4.

I'm not a big fan of gaining an unfair advantage over other gamers on console, but I may have a look at this for when Planetside 2 releases.

Neither am I; however I've seen enough people now able to fire faster than should be possible (the shotgun in AW that's semi-auto, full mag in one second), people paying for scuf controllers, obvious XIM users...hell, entire "clans" forming a party and it being random people vs clan. Hell, I'm at a disadvantage with the controller - my hands are an extra large in a glove...when I grip the controllers, the triggers fall BELOW my knuckles. It's painful to use it with my fingertips on the triggers, which would give me the best response time - maybe make 2-3 sizes of controllers?!

Every one of them destroys you. It's so broken. If they would actually do something to stop it - take down the companies modifying controllers, block the XIM controllers from use, not allow parties of more than 2 to play together in random matchmaking...but they (MS & game companies) have ZERO interest in actually improving things. The XIM should never have been allowed to exist.

You want gaming companies to limit friends from playing with each other just because they beat you sometimes?

I want them to play together, but I don't want them to ruin matchmaking for everyone else. This applies to all games I play, be it CSGO or COD. I've been in a clan; I've been part of the group that clears a server. It's kinda messed up.

If 3 friends are playing, it's 2v1. If 4 friends are playing, it's 2v2, etc. At no point in time should it be 5 friends/clan members vs 5 random people. If they want to play all on the same team, they should be matched to another group of 5 friends. I'm all for EVEN TEAMS. When it's 4-5 friends all together, they totally mess up matchmaking. They are never broken up, so at the beginning of a CODAW match, the teams are re-calculated and remain as broken as they were the last round. It's to the point where when I see a bunch of the same clan tags in game, I just leave.

In game types like CTF, teamwork makes a HUGE difference, and I have *never* seen random people manage it on their own. You occasionally have 2-3 team players, but then the rest go rambo and charge in...and get nowhere.
