I ordered a XIGMATEK HDT-S1283 120mm Rifle with 2 Kaze's. It looks like I should have gone panaflo fans and a megahalem heat sink from what I have read (but I paid for my rush job and lack of research).

But if I can get this q6600 up to 3.6 with tolerable noise I'll be happy.

The order has already shipped. Does any think I should return the xigi and Kazes for the panaflos and megahalem?

Any thoughts?

The Xigmatek is a capable cooler by its own right. It might not be the best for the job, but its less than $40 (less than $30 AR). And it keeps my chip under 40C.

A cooler's a cooler.

I frankly don't think you will notice a great deal of performance with the Megahalems over s1283.
I'm running mine at 3.7 ghz, with 1.55 V in bios ( 1.48 V under load ) and it's at a "chilly" 70 C full load with OCCT. Maybe the megahalems will give you a 2-3 C difference, but nothing that will boost your cpu to 4 ghz.

How did you broke it?

When I was putting in my UD3P I unscrewed the screws and removed it, wiped off most of the TIM, then went to set it down on the table and I dropped it a few inches. One of the two screw on brackets took the brunt of it and stripped out the threads, so one bracket I can't get very tight at all
