Which 5900 are you talking about? The Ultra or the non? Because I can run 6k 3dMark2k3 benchies all day long with an Ultra, regardless of what drivers you give me.

Any - there all technically flawed for future games :)

That, however, is not what you said. You were speaking about 3dMark2k3, and your statement was inaccurate. If you wish to talk about future games and DX9 implementation, that's a whole different topic.

My point is the 3dmark2k3 doesnt really mean much. A full blown dx9 game such as half-life 2 really shows true dx9 performance, rather than 3dmark2k3, so you can nicely place those 6k 3d marks where the sun dont shine, as I dont see it being much use :)

But you created a thread regarding 3dmark scores....

Interesting.

I think people that are dismissing 3DMark03 as not indicative of real world DX9 performance need to remember that it was afterall 3DMark03 that first showed the DX9 flaw in the NV3x based cards. Seems like it's more valid than people are giving it credit for.

So Im lost...is that a big deal? I can score 5100 w/ my Radeon 9700pro and I only have a 2.3Ghz AthlonXP (overclocked 1700+).

3D Mark2003 is mainly GPU based, thus the video card being able to get 5600 is actually fairly good given that that puts it ahead of the 9700Pro (from your scores), which would put it into contention with some of the higher end of the market.

I think that any extra competition can only be a good thing, and if it comes in with good support at a nice price, we could be back to 3 top dogs.

That 3dm2k3 score seems competitive with current high end vidcards, it'll be interesting to see if this card can post similar results in other games, from DX7-9 and Ogl as well. If it manages to do so without glitches, methinks Nvidia is in big doodoo and ATI has gained some competition.
