Not too bad for $15 shipped. I wonder what country made that product....hmmmmm....let me guess.....hmmm.....
Nice find, I'd be interested in seeing some data on this one.....
Depending on how long it's been out, that could be a major sign for you. If you can't find any reviews on it, or anyone admitting to purchasing one, I'd stay clear of it. Especially when it's trying to appear to be a cheap 'alternative' to a good cooler.
I'd like to see a surface area and fan spec comparison between those cheapies and the Zalman's. Who knows, they may do a great job.....however, I'd never buy a sink with a proprietary fan built into it. I want a replaceable fan. Kind of like buying a TV with a built in VCR. If one takes a crap, well, you know........
I wonder how the fan compares to the Zalman. I always take fan sound ratings with a handful of salt, but the XG Cyclone's fan spins @ 3000 rpm and is rated @ 32db. The Zalman spins @ 2400rpm and is rated @ 25db. The Zalman is not loud at full tilt, but I still like being able to turn it down to being nearly inaudible. I don't know if you'd be able to accomplish that with this fan.
The Zalman outweighs the XG by 61 grams. That's about 15%. It's hardly deal-breaking alone, but the finish of the Zalman's base is also very nice. I wonder if this knockoff compares. Every little bit counts.
