XG Action 5000?

CraKaJaX

I was just looking around in my MaximumPC Magazine and I noticed this notebook mentioned in one ad. I noticed the price and it was very low... I don't know much about notebooks but I know the price is cheap for what's in it. Is there something I'm not seeing with this? Or is it a really good deal?

Look at the XG Action 5000, I can't directly link you to the home site... for some reason it says I have censored words. But if you type it in google it will come up. Is the deal good, like I think it is? I can't find any reviews or really anything about it. Post your thoughts

By the way: It's cheaper on the home site than it is on pricewatch.

WOW!
athlon 3700+, gig of xms pc3200, 60gb 7200rpm, radeon 9700 w/ 128mb, 8x dvd burner + creative audigy 2 zs pcmcia card, xp pro
all for 1600
thats a CRAZY price. i dont like to post deals on hot deals(too many flamers there), but i would DEF consider this a hot deal for a gaming laptop...specially for that price. try getting an inspiron 9300 with similar features for the same price...lol
good find op

The GPU is now old, the screen is not the glossy type and it uses regular Mobile A64s (not Turions). I don't think this is a great deal, good but not great.

For 1600, I can spec out a decent 9300 after the Dell coupons.

thats true. i guess im just tired of dell charging like 500 for a gig or ddr2 ram and stuff like that(it was something like that when i was playing around with the 9300 config). my friend was able to get a nice dell p-m 1.6, 1gb, 6800 w/ the glossy screen for 1300 with a coupon so i guess in the end dell does offer nice prices but its not always low so the regular joe-blow who doesn't know of the nice coupons will end up spending 3000 if not more for a well equipped 9300.
the gpu is certainly old but it can still hold its own, but i guess not for too long though with all these games coming out now-a-days.

Also I was looking here at some notebooks, they also look very nice for the price. But again, I can't seem to find any reviews on any of them.
