I need a PCI-e 2.0 card to use in an HTPC. Requirements are that it has 1 HDMI port and 1 VGA port.

Qbah found this card at newegg for $15 after rebate:
XFX GM-210M-YNF2 GeForce 210 512MB 32-bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card
www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150640http://forums.anandtech.com/member.php?u=181423

I've never heard of this brand and none of their cards have any reviews at Newegg. Anyone know anything about them at all to know if this would be a good card to get for the price?

Decent cards but horrible customer service. First hand experience with more than 1 card. You're fine as long as you don't ever need to use their RMA.

Their service for me has always been prompt and pretty good. Too bad it take 2.5 weeks to get your card back from RMA. Their quality is good, not quite Asus or eVga, but good.

I owned a 5870 by xfx-it was non reference and unable to overclock more than 50mhz over ref on the core-locked out. It seemed a cut down shoddy version of the reference design made with cheap components so worse than reference rather than better and annoying that overclocking was locked out.

I had an xfx 5870 which was slightly overclocked by xfx it was sold as an overclocked 5870. Sadly when I tried to run games they would crash. I had to underclock it manually to standard 5870 stock settings for it to work.

My primary system runs two overclocked XFX 5870ies and I couldn't be happier. See my signature for clocks. Bought the 1st one when it came out for about 300€ and the second one used on ebay a few years later for about 150€. Both work perfectly, cooled by Accelero extreme coolers.

Back in 2009 XFX was one of the top brands but since then I consider them to be crap. Most of their cards are very cheap builds and they use low quality components that cause to many problems. Their RMA service used to be very good but I assume that it has gone down the toilet since I last had anything to do with them.

I suggest that one avoids them and go with Asus or MSI. As for the GT210 it is meh quality wise no matter the brand.

I had(just sold) an XFX 5870. Overclocked nicely, no problems since day one.
Had a few of there other earlier cards and not one problem, maybe that's just my luck.

The lifetime warranty is great, but their double d cooling is not good. They also put a huge gob of thermal compound on the GPU which makes matters even worse. My XFX 7870 overheated when overclocked.

I have 6 XFX 6950's setup in bitcoin rigs. They've all been running strong 24/7 for almost a year and a half, overclocked with temps pushing 90C.

Off topic, but this experiment has shown me that 90C is not a dangerous temp for these GPU's. All 12 of the GPU's I have, have been running at that temp for a much longer span than a regular user will ever run their card during it's lifetime. Plus, out of 12 cards total with 2 fans each, only one fan has gone out.

I have a XFX 6870 dual-fan 1gb. Good card, i've had it for over a year now, it's really really quiet on auto fan.

I have it running at 1000core / 1125mem with a small voltage bump to 1.195v, i haven't tried higher speeds. Temps are very good at 50% fan.

So all i can say is that for me xfx is good, so far. I don't know about the new cards though.

For the price, why not. They used to be one of the bigger brands but now they've been overshadowed. But you're spending $15... as long as it's a known brand and the reviews don't suck for the particular item, it does the job.

They used to be better, (offered double life time warranty) but not so much anymore.

I have had pretty good luck with there reference cards, a 5870 @900 MHz and 2 6950's which unlocked. Unfortunately for them, I will be going with sapphire or MSI most likely next time.

I believe they're a subsidiary of PNY.

just make sure you register you card when you get it or else your warranty is void. found that out the hard was after a XFX 6800gt died on me.

Evga is pretty much the best when it comes to brands to stick with. Next up after them, im not sure anymore. Of course, they dont sell AMD models though.

The 4890 I had from them didn't have any problems and is still running in my wife's PC to this day. I've only had one video card fail in the last 20 years and it was a Saphire card.

I so far rma'd two cards with them and mostly I found their customer service decent that is if you followed the procedure correctly regarding registration for the lifetime warranty and you do it within 30 days.

My experience so far is last year my radeon card died they honored my warranty and sent me a new card. This time I just received my card today and it was not brand new I think they fixed my card and sent it back to me or either they removed the sticker and put it in another card.

One thing I noticed is my Windows score went from 5.0 to 4.1 I don't know if Microsoft updated the score or they replaced the card's memory with slower memory.

In any case I'm not doing any gaming anymore so it doesn't really matter but if I did and was looking to buy another card I would go with EVGA or some other brand.

Had a 6790 for a short time from xfx that ended up being a major pos,it would crash my system just simply watching a movie, some newegg reviews back up this claim as a bad batch got sent out.

Then i had a 6770 that would run really hot, that basically killed any possible xfx purchases i would ever consider again.

Don't let my experience discourage you, both were mid range cards so perhaps the upper tier cards have better components or something.

I put an XFX 5670 in my mom's computer as she loves to play games. It's been over a year and she has had no problems with it.

Well, my XFX card is going back. PC wouldn't boot with it in. Took it to work. Got no video at all with it in a different PC. Stopping by Best Buy tonight to pick up whatever they have just to use as a test to see if it's my PC or the card.

At first my 5870 had very aggressive heat management that made the card loud. After downloading a newer firmware for it that fixed the issue, I haven't had any complaints.

I don't overclock though, so I don't know how that aspect of it is.
