xfx rx480 8gb flashed to saphire rx580

You have to be careful doing these. The guy either knew what he was doing or got lucky. If he had tried flashing a BIOS that uses a different voltage controller (e.g. trying to flash a Sapphire RX480 Nitro with a Sapphire RX580 BIOS) he could have bricked his card. Most RX 480 cards use IR 3567B controllers not NCP 81022.

Too much trouble for what it's worth, though it's still nice that it was tried. One can probably do the same thing playing around with the BIOS editor.

From the original poster:
"Had gotten a few hiccups with the core voltage, but I set that to to +24 on msi afterburner and I haven't gotten a single hiccup afterwards... Alright so ran Furmark on the 2100 setup, started to see some artifacting and then display driver crashed. Toned down to 2050, same results but just a little longer to get there. So most stable settings for memory is 2000 Mhz."

So not only can he now not overclock the memory ANY beyond what his stock speed is, he had to add an additional +24mV vcore beyond what the BIOS provided him to be stable at RX580 boost clocks. Supporting the idea that RX580 chips are better binned and/or on an improved process.

He also has not posted any VRM temps. Any sustained boosts past 100C on the XFX RS VRMs is asking for trouble (I have two of these cards).
