i rma'd my 8800gt 512 256bit got back 6750 1gb 128bit is that a good swap? i thought bit was better than mem

Yeah, thats a pretty good swap. Id take it. The 6750 definitely has a higher resale value over the 8800GT.

I am not sure which is faster but I believe the 6750 is. Either way it uses less power and produces less heat.

I got rid of all my 8800GT's and 9800 GT's a while back after they slowly started dying. I just flipped them all on ebay after getting the RMA's back. Those cards were great while they lasted but damn, I had 2 EVGA 8800GT's die, 1 BFG 8800GT die and a BFG 9800GT die which I was able to luckly return to BestBuy after BFG was out of business. Good riddance. 🙂

Good riddance. I RMA'd my EVGA 9800GT due to TDR drops / no 3D and the one I got back started experiencing the same issues less than a week later.

Those 8800GT / 9800GT's are good cards but got very hot and didn't seem to have proper cooling and TIM spread.

Fortunately I was able to bake mine in the oven, get it working, and then resell it on eBay.
