XFX HD4890 Voltage Regulator

Great, from all the 4890's I had to buy one that doesn't have the reference design hence NO Voltera 1165 chip. Does anybody know what chip this crappy XFX card uses? and if it's possible to raise the core voltage?

Awe man!, that sucks...

You could try all the soft volt mod tools... like gputool, voltagefactory, rivatuner, hacked evgaGVT... If nothing works, then its hardmods only....

Any idea on how to do any hard volt mods on the xfx card?

well if it's non reference there is a possibility. it involves soldering on the card and voiding your warranty, losing eligibility for return/rma. Not worth it for a few extra mhz when you could take the core & mem fairly high on stock volts anyway.

By just looking at my HD-489A-ZDFC , it doesn't look like the same pcb as the powercolor or the amaze.
