Well, kind of depends on the game/benchmark. The 8800 GTX and Ultra had more memory bandwidth, but the 9800 GTX has a stronger GPU.
My stance on this is that if you are not needing one to SLI with another card, then get the 9800 GTX+. The + version is a bit faster than the regular 9800 GTX and of course both would draw less power and put out less heat than the 8800 GTX/Ultra.
Overclock your GTX to Ultra speeds, and see if it's stable..then flash it with NBITOR using a 8800Ultra Bios from the same brand and retest for stability (Most stock bios's can be found in the forums at MVKTECH)
Option 2.
If it's not stable at Ultra speeds, then still reflash with the Ultra Bios, but at a reduced clock speed that is still stable..NBITOR allows you to flash custom clock speeds.
Option 3.
Downgrade your Ultra to a same brand GTX bios, and then software overclock them to a decent speed.
You can find a flashing guide and NBITOR download at MVKTECH.net
this is a sweet deal for somebody who wants a 2nd 8800gtx for sli, but not so sweet as a standalone card. 4850 is consistently faster than 8800gtx and can be had for as little as $139 in hot deals.
