Or.....

They've been out on the market for 3+ months selling like hot cakes at ridiculously inflated prices. They're just lowering the price point to make room in the market for the OC'd versions (availability now) and GDD4 refreshes slated to debut when R600 is finally released.....

I got my card mid december for $500 shipped (dell offer)... good offer if you don't need vista right now.

huh?

The drivers for the 8800 series cards are pretty much beta at this point, so if you're using Vista you might run into some issues with them. Sorry if I was being vague.

These things probably will slip into the $400-500 range once ATI shows up to the party. Decent deal, nonetheless, for a top-notch card.

Guys, becareful.

According to XFX's webpage, the product number ending with SHF9 corresponds to the non-extreme version of the card.

SHE9 corresponds to the extreme model which is clocked a bit higher.

Now if this IS the Extreme (E9) version, then this is HOT... if't is for the non-extreme (F9) version then it's still a good deal but not AS hot.

this is something I'd check with ZZF.
