Seems pretty cheap for DX10. They are not great but at this price, but might be good for someone.

Pretty horrible gaming performance. It is neck and neck with a 7300 GT, which was a lousy card 18 months ago.

264 acceleration is the only possible reason to buy this card.

So sad, I was hoping for a midrange card that performed ~ like a 7900GT only with DX10 support. Looks like I'll have to wait, hopefully something in the R600 lineup will fit the bill.

Yes, the 8500GT is supposed to have HDCP. If I do get a 8500GT, it'll still probably be the passive cooling one (from MSI or Gigabyte, can't remember).

Be careful, MOST 8500s and 8600s DO NOT have HDCP. Only the 8600GTS cards are required to be HDCP enabled. For the other cards, its entirely up to the manufacturer to include it. Check for this feature on the specific card you purchase.

Thats what I thought. I haven't seen any of the 8500s with HDCP listed except the Gigabyte. Couldn't find it listed for this card, but then again its not always plainly obvious.
