This is a very nice price.

However, it's a regular clocked 7900GT. Since XFX sells factory OC'd models, it makes me wonder if these cards were ones that wouldn't OC well at the factory. IMO, the biggest reason to get a 7900GT is that expectation that it will OC very well.

It's slightly OCd I think... 450MHz is the standard core clock, this XFX has 470MHz. I've got this exact card and i got it to 610/826 with stock voltage (no mods yet...)

Anyway, I think it's a great deal.

Can you put non-similar cards into an SLI setup? I have the 7900GTO 512MB from the Hot Deal. Can I get this card and hook them up in a SLI configuration?

the 7900gto shows up as a 7900gt in my display properties... so maybe?? has anyone tried something like this? different clocks and memory, so I doubt it would work, but might be fun to try.

Er, were the 7900 series even available last year? IIRC they came out in March or something of this year.

The price is good enough... if they were that price w/o rebate (today, not a year from now) then I'd consider one...

I remember last year when the 7800GTX was the best thing there was. I cant believe that was only a year ago, and how far cards have come since then.

Good deal BTW.

Its crazy how fast graphics cards depreciate.

Just wait around 6mo and you'll get the previous top of the line card for 200bucks, they always mark up a huge premium on the latest graphics cards, the enthusiast market pays whatever for the latest and greatest.

I believe the later versions of Crossfire do allow for 2 totally different cards to run together. The slower card dictating overall speed.

Could be wrong though...I don't have a crossfire board ATM so I haven't paid too much attention to Crossfire details.

Just so everyone knows...pics of a real 8800GTX running leaked...plus benches......
Oddly enough it seems to not do as well in Shader scores as the top end ATI stuff, but these benches are fairly preliminary. But the overall 3DMark is through the roof...like 12K...

I felt the same way when the GeForce 6/ Radeon X's came out. It seemed like one day the 9800 was the best thing you can buy and then the next, it was just a "budget card."
