XFX GeForce 7600GS AGP 8X 256MB crashes in Second Life

I recently installed a new Graphics card (XFX GeForce 7600GS AGP 8X 256MB DDR2).I got this new card in order to play Second Life. SL runs much smoother and the environment seems to load a lot faster, however, I get random crashes where the system freezes, the screen goes black, the sound goes and then after a minute or so my computer will reboot, if I don't restart it first. I followed the usual measures when installing the card. I uninstalled my old drivers, turned off my virus scanner, and I've made sure that my BIOS settings corresponded to the new hardware. And I followed the directions on the NVidia web sit for installing the new driver. I also flashed to the latest BIOS-(CI8E1013) and installed the latest chip set drivers for my Asus MB.
I don't have any other games installed on this computer, so I don't know if I'd crash doing something other than playing SL. Sometimes I can be in SL for several hours before things black out and freeze, other times just a few minutes.
Is there a particular set of drivers that I should install in order to do SL?
The system runs just fine other than this SL crash problem.
I also downloaded a free Graphics stress test and ran it for an hour without any problems.
I posted this problem to the forums at Second Life, but didn't get any solutions.
If anyone has any suggestions, I'd appreciate it.
Thx in advance
Ethan

Might want to try the Tech Support forum. That's the same card I just got for WoW and it's working great, while the 6200 I tried was crashing. I don't play second life so can't compare, maybe I'll download and try it later just to give you one other bit of info.

Sounds like a heat issue. Try underclocking the CPU and/or the video card and see what happens. My fiancee got into SL a couple of weeks ago and we noticed some graphical anomalies that were a result of the cpu being overclocked from 2.2 to 2.64 ghz. I dialed it back to 2.60 ghz and all has been fine since. SL is the only program has protested the overclocking.

Nothing on my computer is overclocked. Can you tell me a quick way to underclock my CPU? Is it done in the BIOS settings?
Thanks

In the BIOS, just try lowering the multiplier. So if your multiplier is 11x, try changing it to 9x. Maybe the hsf is not seated properly or something like that.
