xfx geforce 6600gt

66.93 works well and my friend played on Farcry and Doom3 using it for 6 weeks now. works great even at higher settings. He did try some of the 7x.xx beta and there were some misc issues related.

ok im thinking about getting the xfx 6600gt as well, could someone tell me how loud this card is with the new fan design? I've heard that the xfx is the loudest 6600gt card there is?

Enjoy!

Inno3D was apparently the loudest.

I've already read that article. The one in the article has the old heatsink fan. I'm asking about the card with the new revision

Hi,

Did you ever get an answer to your question about the XFX GeForce 6600GT? I have the exact card and I've used it for 2 months now, no noise, no problems.
I, like you, wanted a silent box so I went with this video card, a Lian Li PC-V1200 case and a Zalmon CPNS 7000 Cu CPU cooler. It's very nice not hearing all of those fans noises and roar at night time or during the day.

BTW - I have also OC'd the card GPU to 525MHz from the stock 490MHz.

I hope this helps,

I recently bought this card, the xfx 6600gt, and it came with the new silver heatsink/fan. It is rather loud as a fan goes. It puts a deal of noise from the air, but no clicking noises or anything like that. It is by far the loudest thing in my computer, about as loud as my zalman 92mm fan when it is turned up to full speed.

I am playing with the XFX 6600GT AGP with updated cooler and use the 67.66's which have been great so far. Temps, stability, and noise are all excellent for my needs. I don't care about silent computing as the comp and master rooms are on opposite sides of the house. Besides white noise is soothing to me.
