Nice find Larry. This is a really solid PSU for $40.

It's funny though because in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, etc. there will still be PC gamers in the US asking for a <75W TDP GPU or a 6-pin GPU only when quality PSUs has never be cheaper! But no, they will continue paying exponential premiums for under-powered GPUs simply because they can't figure out a way to buy a proper $40 PSU :)

Yeah, it's a Tiger rebate, but at least it's not that McAfee bundle crap.!

Tiger uses 4myebate, so they are reliable.

(Also personally, I've gotten back all the rebates I filed from Tiger Direct purchases)

I remember back in 2006 when I built my first PC the Seasonic made Antec NeoHe 550 watt I bought cost me around $80 (or more).

Yes, the situation has a changed a lot since then.

Now a good (Seasonic made) 550 watt like the XFX TS series regularly goes on sale for $26.99 AR at both Newegg and Tiger Direct. With 6 and 8 pin power connectors it can handle almost any single video card.

And this Seasonic made 750W is pretty amazing to me as well with (two) 6 pin and (two) 8 pin PCIe power connectors.

P.S. Here is the conclusion page from the JonnyGuru review on this PSU.

Look past the annoying packaging, and you find a very well performing, very stable power supply that I wouldn't hesitate to put in any of my computers and run all day long. These are just good units here, people. Go buy one.

Probably not. It's higher wattage, but still Bronze.

I would only get it if your current PSU is more than 5 years old, OR, you plan on getting a pair of high-powered GPUs, rather than just one.

It was fortuitous that I bought two of those Antec Edge (SeaSonic) 750W Gold PSUs, as I have now found a need for them, I'm probably changing out my H81 micro-ATX boards, for Z97 ATX boards, and putting in dual GPUs in each of them. Which would require FOUR PCI-E 6-pin plugs, which my current EVGA 500W doesn't have.
