After buying the 9600GT, I wish I would have gotten the 8800GT. The prices on the 8800's are so low now, I'm going to pick one up and put the 9600 in my slower machine.

depends on resolution, but most likely not if you're running 1600x1200 and u want any aa/af

heres AT's bench for medium settings

still pretty fast though

I got two of the PNY ones last week or so for $151. I think it beats out the 8800gt and gts, but not the gtx or ultra. This one looks just like mine except for the badging. I have one in my Ultra microfly as well, lol. This is a long card, but not wide and only uses one slot. Headroom is barely adequate. I didn't tell my kid and when he got on to play COD4 or Crysis, his eyes got all big and he said "what happened, look at all this detail on my gun, and everywhere...!"

Judging by the tests HERE i'd say a pair would blow away an 8800GTS 512.

9600GT SLI score quite a bit higher than an 8800 Ultra and a GTS 512 doesn't even compare. So...yeah...they'll destroy. ^_^
