Greetings

I'm in the beginning steps of bringing up a new desktop CPU. During the install of the XFX 8800 GTS I noticed a little clear sticker on the side of the card that states: " Remove Protective Film Before Use".

??? What are they referring to here? The only film is the large graphic sticky and when I lifted on edge it was apparent that this sticky was meant to be permanent. i.e. the graphics stated to come apart and leave a much of 'residue' on the card.

Thanks from any insight into this :)

Thanks so much for the prompt response.

I just checked................. .......... there is (or rather was) a very thin protective film over the graphics. LOL.......... I'm glad I didn't rip of the graphics sticky!

Thanks again

heck i left mine on. didn't think it would effect temps or anything. maybe i should take it off. It might melt on the card or something.

You should take it off ASAP. I left mine on too but it heated up enough to melt a little around the rear or the card away from the fan.
