do all the 8 series require the PCI-E power supply connector? Im looking bypass this onboard nvidia GPU and get something better. I dont want to upgrade the OEM 350 watt PS if possable. Sorry if this has been asked before.

EDIT: Im looking on newegg at the pictures and I dont see the conector. But I remeber reading somewhere that it the 6 pin connector was needed.

thanks doggy. It looks like both the XFX 8500-8600 cards dont require the connector by the looks of the pics on the egg. www.zipzoomfly.com has better prices on these cards FYI. Im still torn on what to get. I really only play americas army at 1440X900

only the 8600gts uses 6pin. the 8500gt and 8600gt do not. just get the 8600gts because 350watts is plenty.

Remember children, it's not just about watts, but also about amperages too. If the amperage ratings on the stock PSU aren't high enough or stable enough, you may run into problems later.
