$189.99-20GCO - 40MIR = 129.99
$40 rebate

saw it at FW. pretty good deal if you don't mind the rebate. Thinking if its worth it to replace my x800GTO2 or wait a few months when the dx10 mid-value cards out.

On a second thought, what kind of Gym equipment I can buy with $130. So instead of sitting in front of computer own/owned and get fat in process, I can slim down. 😀

yup this is a great deal, better warranty then the PNY 7900GS that was $132.00 after 12% off zone deal at best buy last 2 weeks, or PM.

or the PM deal at circuity city where the PNY 7900GS was $130.00 afer PM and $20,0 rebate.

this deal has no tax or shipping, and som people are getting the there $20.00 back from google in 2 weeks, then you just has to wait 2 months for the $40.00 manufacturer rebate.

$20 google check out is instant.

my local CC never ever allow PM with rebate (they always check if they carry rebate)

well, no need to talk about BB.

Agreed, this is a great deal. One of those "don't need it but still tempted" things for me.... hmmm.
XFX Rocks - best warranty / no hassles on two previous rebates / very good support... and the black cards look pretty cool too 😉

BTW - you get the $20 off from GCO instantly not 2 weeks later. You may be confusing it with the PayPal rebate?! (oops - late - Isman beat me to it)

SWEEEEEET!!!

yeah i got the 7900gs from CC and BB 2 weeks ago, and got the PM at CC no problem, and used the 12% off at BB, but decided to return them both, I am very tempted on this deal too, except for the fact that i am so broke i can't afford to pay attention.

Depending on the size of my bonus check ... I may have to get 2 of these puppies.

$129 for the first one.
$169 for the second one.

Under $300 for near 7950GX2 performance.

You could save on the second one if you're willing to go the MIR rebate route. Newegg has the same card for $179.99 with a $40 mail in rebate. Not sure if you're still limited by the 1 rebate per person/household if you use the buy.com rebate and newegg.com rebate . . .

I just bought a Pny 7900GS, and it's doing very well for me at 570/1370. But, my motherboard does support SLI... very tempting. I should just never look in the HotDeals section, it would be better for my wallet. 🙂

is this a good option over a $188 dollar x1950pro?

you get a little bit less performance in 7900gs but $50 less (according to tom's)... and xfx should be good ocer.

No, closer to the 7800GT. I'm not sure about other enhancements, but the difference between 7800 and 7900 series is just a die shrink (maybe?). Between the different models the differences are just enabled pipelines, RAM amount and clock speeds. IIRC...

7800GT 20 pipes
7800GTX 24 pipes + higher clocks
7900GS 20 pipes
7900GT 24 pipes
7950GT 24 pipes 512MB higher clocks
7900GTX 24 pipes 512MB even higher clocks

Anybody have any corrections to this?

7900gs has 20pipes but is clocked faster than a 7800gtx 256mb
]and since the 7900 is smaller die and newer memory, it will usually overclock as high or higher than 7900gt. its very powerfull card for $130.00, and 2 in sli and with some overclocking does almost equal a 7950gx2, course you need a sli board for it though.

$80 7600GT or $130 7900GS? I guess about 20% performance difference is where I'd start to want the 7900GS more... unsure how much better picture quality is.

Both excellent deals.

If you like to run much higher rez then 1280x1024 or use AA/AF ... the 7900GS all the way.
