OK - Just got this vid card & for the 1st 3 days, it was fine, but now the fan is driving me crazy! It sounds like I have a 40mm lawn mower inside my computer.

Originally, XFX wanted me to get the RMA from NewEgg, but I'm going direct to XFX since there's no guaranty that the next card I get from NewEgg won't have the same problem. I'd like to avoid having to RMA because it may take as long as 2 weeks.

I'm pretty sure it's not a smart idea to disconnect the fan on the vid card, but is there any software i can d'load to control the speed of the fan on the card?

Any other good ideas - no water cooling. I'd consider an aftermarket fan, but XFX said it's not recommended for end-users to do the upgrade themselves.

HELP!

I would recommend getting a VF700 cooler by Zalman. That's what I did for my 7800GT. I hated how my BFG fan goes crazy upon startup. I prefer a fan that I can hook up to my fan controller and mess aroudn wtih noise.
