xfx 7800 gtx 256MB (475/1250) display issue

i just bought the above card from newegg the prevous weekend. mainly i have been playin DCfinal (battlefield mod) and CoD2. cod2 works like a charm and it gives me no problem. but dcfinal sometimes gives me problems.

it's on the stock hsf with 44c/52c (from nvmonitor). i just tested my CPU and RAM and found no problems with it. the drivers i use are nvidia nforceware 81.94.

with dcfinal, sometimes the display is broken and not continous. i play at 1024x768. this has happened to me quite a few times now. once the display starts to break, so does the sound. i think it could be the drivers but with cod2 running fine leaves me in confusion. restarting also doesn't solve this problem. (btw, the temp are from nvmonitor. if there a better s/w to check the temps and voltages of the cpu, gpu, chipset then please let me know.)

what could the issue be.

yesterday, i was able to reproduce this issue again. initially, the dcfinal (desert combat final) display and sound is good. but when i play it for a long time (say about 2 hours or more), the display starts to get discontinous and a little while later the sound too starts breaking. since i usually play online, i get kicked out. so i try it on the local LAN and still it's the same issue. thus this is not a network lag. besides, i'm able to play on the same server from a different machine too. also, i tried playing cod2 AFTER this issue came up with dcfinal and the display was rock-solid in it. so it has to be something with the GFX card and dcfinal.

the same thing happens when i start playin on the local LAN. after some time the display and sound is broken.

anyone having the same issue with this xfx 7800gtx 256MB card while playing dcfinal? i've got this card from newegg on 12/2. any issues with this card or drivers? please help!!!!!!!

using drivers:

installed the nv silencer rev. 3

the problem occurs when the machine is runnin for quite some time. i.e. say 4 to 5 hours and more. and restarting fixes the issue. after restarting, i've been able to play DCfinal for 2 hours continously.
temps are CPU 34C, GFX 42C, chipset 45C.

what could the issue be?

the MS's hotfix for the dual core did the trick. now DC-final display does not stutter.
turned off cool and quiet in the motherboard (this may not be necessary). installed hotfix, regedited, installed AMD drivers.
