XFX 7600 GT XXX or ATI X800XL

Hi, im about to purchase a new video card for my new gaming rig. im building an AM2 based 64 X2 3800+. I have a choice between 2 cards: ATI Radeon X800XL (click here for details) or a XFX 7600 GT XXX. The price difference is around $20 Canadian (the X800 being cheaper). Which one should i get?

Why are you building with AM2 if it's a gaming rig? Budget? If it's because of budget you'd be better off buying an old A64 instead of AM2. Mostly same performance; otherwise, C2D all the way.

Alot of the upcoming games are building on Dual-Core technology, and the AMD 64 X2 out-performs pretty much anything in its cost range.

a comparable C2D mobo has less features for a higher price... cheapest conroe in canada is ~240 (6300)

All core2 duo are dual core native.
Not to mention a core2 duo E6600 BEATS a FX 62 in games although its the GPU where it matters the most.

Shouldve gone for the core2 duo E6300.

I would buy the 7600GT. Much better in terms of performance, features, power/heat and size.

I cannot afford it, and my question was not even about my CPU. I just wanted to know which Video card was better.

7600GT pwns it though.
