XFX 6800GT w/ Antec truepower 380watt psu

Im running an overclocked tbred 2600+ with the vcore set to 1.7v with 2 optical and 2 sata hard drives with a 9800pro graphics card. Everything is tip top with no cut outs or black screens however im thinking of upgrading my gfx card to 6800gt. Will my psu be able to cope with the new card aswell as keeping my current overclock?

Thanks.

My buddy had an Antec Truepower 400W in his P4 Prescott rig witha 6800GT. However, his PSU only had 18A on the 12V+ rail. Proved insufficient as his PC kept turning itself off.
So I made him buy an Enermax 460W with 33A on the 12V rail. Running Flawless.
380W is bare minimum. Your Athlon will use less juice than my buds prescott, but give yourself some headroom.

The TruePower 380 supplies 24 on the 12v+ rail, so you're fine. Its actually listed at 18a, but these are the very old models of that PSU, and a newer one will run your 6800GT just fine.

I was using an AXP 3200 and a 6800 GT on a generic 400W with a 15A 12V line for several months and it worked flawlessly. I think the Athlon XPs might run off the 5V line or something.

well the prescotts are known to take a lot more juice so that could be reason why even a 400W was insufficient but i guess its always better to have a high rated PSU incase u want to add additional peripherals later!

Ok say i decide to buy a new GT, is it worth the price and will i see that much of a improvement in my games over my 9800Pro.

Thanks.
