XFX 6800GT PCIe power connector

This may be an extremally silly question, but please keep in mind this is my first build.

My XFX 6800GT PCIe card came with a power cord that obviously connects to the card and then becomes a split (Y) for two molex connectors.

The documentation for the card simply says "plug in power cords".......

I know one plugs into the psu, but what do I do with the other molex?

Thanks in advance.

If it is female plug it into the power supply also, if it is male it can be used to power other components, although i wouldn't recomend plugging anything else into it.

You have to plug 2 molex connectors into the adapter. It needs more power than one can supply.

Really? I only have 1 plugged into the power source and the other adaptor powering something else. So both molex connects have to be connected to the power supply?

They are supposed to be. You don't really want anything on the same line anyway.

lol man i pulled such a noob move there. I been playing WOW for like 4 hours with my SLi and only 1 plug from each card is connected.
