I am trying to hook up a 32" LED to a 6670 and highest I can get at 60hz is 720p.

1080i and 1080p will only do 30Hz and 24Hz respectively, and are basically unusable.

I tried adding 1080p60 format to the Display Manager (NTSC) under HDTV Support, but it still won't let me select it. The TV definitely supports 1080p 60Hz.

From Googling it seems to have been a problem with AMD/ATI cards for quite some time now, but I couldn't find a solution.

Have you tried 59Hz?

OP can you mention the model of the HDTV?

Also did you try the rest of the HDMI ports of the TV set?

Ok, I'm typing this right now from an Intel based laptop that is hooked up to the TV and it is 1080p 59Hz using the same cable. So that rules out the cable and the TV, and leaves it to being something with the ATI cards.

Try using a spare DVI to HDMI adapter on the card and connect the cable there.

It is strange indeed. I am using 5850s and 7950s on my Philips HDTV and I havent' faced such a problem so far.

Update:

I have it hooked up with an Amazon Basics 3 meter DVI-HDMI cable and it works fine 1080p 60Hz with that. It appears that it has to be a driver issue (unless both cards HDMI out is bad?)

Getting 60hz with the DVI cable is nice, but depending on it's wiring maybe you will not be able to get sound out of it. If you do get sound however or you don't care anyway, then you are fine.

It's quite possibly a driver issue as you say. I think that both DVI and HDMI are getting their signals from the same part of the chip.

You can also try updating the driver of your HDTV if one exists, or create your own with moninfo.
