Xfree86 or KDE?

Or can I have both on there and try them both out? I am running Freebsd 4.0release btw. Pros and cons would be nice other than the generic "(insert gui name here) rules!"

Um. XFree86 is an X server. KDE is a desktop enviroment, running on top of X. KDE comes with KWM per default which is a window manager.

I guess your question is, can you both have KDE and say GNOME and some other windowmanager as Enlightenment or Window Maker installed?

The answer is yes.

baaaaaahhhhhh, do I feel sheepish. I am grossly misinformed 😉 I thought they were both desktop envirnments.

Think it's time to regroup, and do a little more research before I look like even more a newbie.
