Xfiles: did anyone watch every season? if so, did you get it?

i'm considering getting a bunch of the seasons vs netflix. is it worthwhile watch? i've probably seen about 1/5 of the episodes over the years but never watched it consistently enough to get the overriding plot.

I have seen a lot of the episodes now, via re-runs, and I would say yes after awhile they do start to tie some things together. If you see them all (incl. final show)+ the movie I don't think there is a lot left, but I'm sure there were some danglng Qs left out there. I thought there was supposed to be a 2nd movie coming out in Summer '03 but maybe that plan was scrapped.

The point of the show was to make as much money as possible. The plot dragged on and became really lame especially when mulder left. All the weepy ones with the Lone gunmen were annoying as hell.

So who were the aliens, were they that black oil or little green men that played baseball......truthfully don't think Chris Carter cared towards the end he was just milking the cow.

Carter seemed to be making a lot of it up as he went along, without a well-planned arc like Babylon 5 had, or a natural progression like in SG-1 (which wasn't so much planned as evolved). As story arcs go, I'd rate it as fairly weak.

. . . and the clip-show final episode was really weak.

The first season is absolutely fantastic. There's almost no connecting story line between any of the episodes, but almost all of them are just really excellent episodes in there own right. The first 6 seasons or so are all pretty good, and it started to go downhill after that.

Definitely watch the first season though, some fantastic TV in there.

I enjoy some of the "funny" episdoes. The smoking alien is the one that stood out.
