I just purchased Xeon X5698. This is very interesting CPU.
I couldnt really find any bench information on X5698, really curious how it would perform against 990x and 2600k on single-dual core intensive tasks like pi-test.

Is there anything special about this X5698 on process procedures?? I heard some rumors that this was specially designed for HFT(high frequency trading) in Wall street.

OMG the 990x is ancient. 2600k @ 4.5Ghz will not give bottleneck. Faster card higher frame rates thx to CPU doing its thing. gl

"Not very impressive"? It's a 4.4GHz processor! I wonder whether Intel still do this kind of thing? I wonder what they could clock an Ivy Bridge-E to if they disable most of the cores...
