I did a search on the web and on Intel's website and cannot find an answer to this question.
I'm getting ready to purchase a new Dell Precision Workstation. I am wondering which processor, Xeon or P4 with 800Mhz bus provides better overall performance. My machine is used for gaming, reading email, cruising the web, web development and other diverse things. I'm just looking for the fastest box I can get for the money. I'm going single processor with HT and am not sure which way to go. The specs for the 800Mhz fsb P4 make me think this box would be faster. The cache size for both processors is 512k, both are HT and the other peripherals, disk, memory, etc. are similar. I'm leaning toward the Precision workstation 360 over the 450 or 650. Any comments?
Thanks in advance.
