I recently came across a pair of 733Mhz PIII Xeon processors really cheap. I believe they are slot 2? Im not that knowledgable about Pentium stuff, especially the Xeon line of things. Can anyone recommend a good motherboard for these? Are these things even cheap, seems like they wouldnt be. Give me some pointers on things I need to know about them, special motherboards, power supply, heatsinks, etc etc. Like I said, im ignorant when it comes to the Xeon line.

Thanks in advance. Not really sure what Im going to do with a dual Xeon computer anyways, if nothing else I'll sell the darn thing.

While XEON processors themselves seem cheap, the motherboards are usually prohibitively expensive.

Unless those processors come with large cache, ie 1MB or more, don't bother.

You need Dual Slot 2 motherboards, MONSTER heat sinks, voltage retention modules....more trouble than it is worth for casual usage.

Thanks, think I'll just pass along these processors to someone else. They were just 866mhz 256K cache Xeon's. I got to looking around and it seems like your right, processor cheap....motherboard outrageous.
