Xeon L version question

So, there are some decent deals on 8 thread haswell L version, they are like 800 mhz slower but turbo up to same speed as their non-L. Question is, anyone know if I can set the multiplier so they act like their higher TDP sibling?

AFAIK all Xeons after LGA1366 are now multiplier locked.

Yes, I don't think that's possible. But ThrottleStop should be able to clock them as high as the TDP and turbo limitations will allow.

Hmm, I did find scores on passmark and it seems people were able to get similar close to i7/s and non-L, so they must be able to manually set multi on OC boards

If it has turbo boost, my Z97-A board can probably get it to run all the cores at the turbo speed, which is nice.

But no multiplier changing.

Just set the multiplier to the turbo multiplier, and all the cores will probably run at that speed.
