Xeon E5520 upgrade or just use towrds new system

Ok i have a dual Xeon system with 2 E5520 I can get a pair of Xeon X5570s for about $200 is it worth upgrading the system or should I just stick it out with the E5520. I do video editing and the rendering does task the CPUs to almost 100%. Is the upgrade a good investment? What do you guys think?
 
If you don't get the X5570s, how long will you wait until you upgrade your entire system? If you're going to be stuck with that machine for a long time it might be worth it, but if its going to get replaced in a year I'd skip it.

They'll be a decent performance increase, but not that phenomenal. Do you have a list of all supported processors for your motherboard? There are probably some better options for you- you might be better looking for a pair of 6 cores like the E5645s, if they're supported. I had a pair in my old workstation, and they were pretty sweet chips.
 
I know that this system will support the 5600 series xeon but they are way to expensive for an upgrade to spend over $1000 for a pair of chips I might as well get a new system. I was thinking but for only $200 I can almost have the increased speed and not be too poor at the same time.
 
I was not even thinking of getting any money for the resail fo the old CPUs I went ahead and ordered the new CPUs. I think this is the last upgrade for this system and will us it still as my main system till I can get a new workstation with all the new tech.
