Hey, all.

So I'm still rockin' an X79 rig. ;) Had dual Xeon Sandy Bridge E5s @ 2.0 GHz, but recently upgraded it with a single Xeon Ivy Bridge E5 @ 3.7 GHz purely for the higher clock.

Just working through some gaming related performance issues but otherwise the system is fine and is configured with 32GB DDR3, RTX 2070 with OS/games on SSDs. No thermal issues observed.

Windows 10 20H2 installs without issue, but I don't actually see the Xeon E5 listed here:

E3 and others are.

Just wondering if that could be part of the issue before I consider dropping $ on new components...

Thanks!

What model # is your Xeon E5 v2? If it is a 16xx series, it should overclock nicely, which would help CPU performance. You may manage between 4 and 4.5GHz, quite possibly.
