even if these Xeon 3040 and 3050 CPUs are able to overclock to higher speeds than the E6300 and E6400, the gaming performance might be lower than them...at least thats what I gather from that quote...something along the lines of:

'the Xeon CPUs have better mathematical instructions as a trade off for poorer level instruction sets for game physics/geometry interfacing'

uh... xeon 3000 and core 2 duo is exactly the same.

there are probably articles out ther ecomparing the 5100 with the core 2 duo, and the 5100 is slightly slower because of fbd-dimm latencies but has 1333 bus.

so i guess its put to rest now. gay i wanted a cheap 4mb chip.

and yes benchmarks comparing the c2d vs xeon counterpart would be great. can someone tell anandtech to do this please? im sure many would want to know soon.
