for any who did sign up, I got this email

Dear xxxx,

We regret to announce that we must discontinue the Xenote.com service for the Xenote iTag.

XENOTE.COM WEBSITE WILL SHUT DOWN THIS FRIDAY, 9/22/00

No later than Friday, September 22nd, the service will no longer be available. Current economic conditions are such that we have been unable to secure funding and must therefore cease operations.

SINCERE THANKS TO ALL XENOTE AND PROJECT COBALT USERS

We'd like to personally thank each and every one of you who participated in beta testing and launch of our revolutionary service. It is certainly not lack of enthusiasm on the part of our customers that has caused this to come about!

PLEASE LOG IN TO YOUR ACCOUNT TO PRINT YOUR TAGS!!

Many of the Xenote-supported stations that you've been able to "Bookmark" also have a "Now Playing" feature on their website. Where this feature is available, we'd encourage you to use it as an alternative to our service. We'll provide links to the web pages of our charter stations from our homepage.

The Xenote.com web site will be available to you for the next few days. If you'd like to save the bookmarks that you've made, please stop by the site, login, and print out your tags.

Sincerely,

The Xenote Team

Does anyone know what these devices work?

Any chance we might find another use for them?

it was basically a timer, tho i never did the cobalt thing, i got the itag, and you pressed it and it recorded the time and uploaded it tothe website and you could see what you "tagged" accroding 2 the music station you originally selected and the song or advertisement played...i used to it find out artist/song name so i could stick it into napster:)...but anyways the thing died out on me and i think it was the battery, to lazy to to change it, now its a paperweight. i too got the email, it was a cool idea, i think someone else made another similar one, anyone remember the link?
