Xenogears and Einhander are available on PSN

but in Japan only. These are absolute classics (dealing with religion and philosophy in the case of Xenogears). I hope they come our way soon. Can I setup a Japanese account? My Japanese is on the up and up.

It's very easy to set up a JP account, especially if you can already understand it. You'll just need to use a real Japanese address when you get to that part (use a hotel or something).

For JP PSN cards, go with NCSX or eBay, that way the codes will get e-mailed to you.

I think I still have my copy of Einhander floating around somewhere... but the only one I could find at the time was one that was on sale used at a video store so its got one of them permastickers on it.

I know Japanese PS3 games would work on the American PS3, but what about Japanese PS One games?

They wouldn't work, the region coding was changed when the PS3 came out. Thus the region coding is on both ps1 and ps2 game and would require a japanese console.
