Just getting around to it.

Holy fawk is it long.

I have 144 hours on the clock and despite being 99 have yet to finish all quests, superbosses, upgrades, etc.

Wow.

Finally working on grade VI gems. Topple locking is just too much fun. Though I'm so over leveled and over geared I can "AFK" on auto attack and win most fights.

I'm amazed most by the fact that this is a Wii game. Despite limited memory and constant need to hit the disc real time, things load amazingly fast. Enough that I can abuse save/reload even when the RNG doesn't give me what I want.

Now I'm just being silly. Picking on the Lv 114 and 120 uniques and farming their crystals to make 100% AP Up VI and Daze Up VI gems.

Glory gauntlets + Wyvern / Conviction Blades with 100% more topple duration, 100% more damage while toppled , double attack, and haste, with "all double attacks are crits" and "crits heal you" arts linked on three characters with topple arts. Chain gauge refills so fast the topple stacks never wear off . Absolutely insane. Third char with automatic Phys Def Down on hit gems for added FU; also with haste and double attack.

Dont know why I get a kick out of elite super monsters the size of a house and 21 levels higher than me writhing and moaning on the ground unable to do anything while I proceed to munch their face off in < 90 seconds. :awe:

I did the same thing in Xenogears. Fei on foot body slamming sky scraper sized dragons meant to be fought in gears.

Beat Avalanche Abaasy yet?

Instant death spikes, agility so high you miss constantly, & talent art that can reach 9,999 damage lol

Yeah hes not bad at all. Really time consuming though, so much HP and I have to use Nightvision gems in place of Topple Up so less damage. Only 2000 more AP than the next highest guy but takes 3 times longer to kill so I just killed him for enough Daze Up crystals and moved on to more efficient AP/hr enemies.

Worst of the 5 for me was Ancient Daedala. Took 10 minutes just to GET to it and start swinging with its 10 mile 360 degree vision, laser, and "stun locking" me with visions over and over again every 2 steps before I could even get close to it. When I farmed that one I just killed him the first time, then saved right on top of it's spawn point for repeat kills. Screw that garbage.

Avalanche Abaasy and Blizzard Belgazas were actually very easy, so much that I was surviving just fine for several minutes at a time even when they weren't topple locked. Helps having 100% debuff resist for instant death, 100% Spike protection, etc. I now have a complete set of end game gems and gear for every character.

Despotic Arsene, the stupid rabbit, pissed me off the most with its 999 evade. It has like 100 HP but you can't fawking hit it.

Finally finished everything.

164 hours played. So much for catching up my backlog of two dozen RPGs on holiday break.

So, is this similar to xenosaga? That was probably my favorite console rpg ever.

You can see some of the Monolith "X" influences in many similar aspects of the game, but no, it has nothing to do with Xenosaga and doesn't play anything like Xenosaga.

One of the characters' Final Cross art = KOSMOS chest canon and little things like that.

The soundtrack is incredible.

Its kinda like old school Final Fantasy, eg just because they both have moogles and chocobos doesnt mean they are anything alike or have anything to do with one another .

I wish the game weren't so expensive right now.

It's the one thing that has me holding onto my modded Wii.

I bought this game, but the graphics got the best of me. I just can't handle the lack of definition anymore. Maybe it can be emulated on Dolphin.

Wii's graphics don't really bother me. Now...I did go back and play a few PSX One games last year (Xenogears, Dragon Quest 7) and omg my eyes lol. I actually prefer SNES graphics to PSX graphics.

But yes, Dolphin does wonders for Wii/GC graphics (and Xenoblade works/looks great on it).
