Xconfigurator problems in Redhat 7.1

OK,

I rebuilt my linux box and now I can't get Xconfigurator to work so I can run a window mannager. When it tests the videe for the X windows, it says It can't configure it and I can't get into any window managers anymore. I was able to do this before I rebuilt. I have an STB Lightspeed vid card and a sun 21" monitor. Any ideas?
