all i can say is wow, it was hooked up to a 23 inch samsung hidef tv, and cod2 looked absolutley amazing, to bad controllers suck for aiming 😉

i most certaintly rivals pc gaming, if not surpassing it, but i will in no way shape or form be getting one and loosing my rig 🙂

Maybe Walmart? They are all supposed to be getting demos of the up very soon for the big kickoff. Personally, I'm waiting for te PS3. and no I am not trying to start something.

The 23" was 720p right? It wasn't 1080 was it?!

haha, i think that FPS should be kept on the computer and arcade/adventure games on console. shooting with a mouse and keyboard > any other controller i know of.

Yea, but you have to look at from the console gamers point of view.
Theres 2 sides to the fence.

I was brought up with a sh!tty computer with no games, so the onlything i ever played was Sega, Sega Saturn, Nintendo. N64 was when i really started to get into gaming (Goldeneye).
Then the Xbox, which was my culmination. Halo and Halo 2 are my favorite FPS.

Last year was the first year i ever got a good computer (i have gamed before, but nothing good) and then i got into the good FPS (Far Cry, Doom 3, UT2004, etc), but i never liked the mouse and keyboard. Granted, i have gotten used to it, but it will never match a controller, IMHO.

So, like i said, its an opinion. Im sure there are those here who love the mouse and hate the controller, and then the those who are the complete opposite.

To me, a controller and console are unmatched for gaming (playing GTA III for 5 hours on my sofa, while listening to the Rolling Stones and eating pizza is awesome. If i tried that on my computer, id feel very uncomfortable after 2 hours.)

Yea I realized what you're used to is what you'll use..... My friend grew up playing console, so he doesn't like PC.. but sometimes plays games like starcraft with me or diablo.... But for me, console is odd, because I can't get away from the geratness of kb/m for ANY games... But I did own an xbox for a small amount of time, and damn, was that ever fun, Halo 2... mmm....

Yea, thats what i mean.

Dont get me wrong, i love alot of PC games, but only in periods of time (like Far Cry ill play and beat once or twice a year, UT2004 got boring after 2 months, and Battlefield i can only play for one or 2 week increments before having to take a break)

But console games like GTA, Halo (1 and 2) and a few others, i can consistently play and like.

But again, its all based on what your used to / like.
(if you went over to a fileplanet site, like haloplanet or the likes, itd be the complete opposite as the opinions here, in that they would all prefer controllers over keyboards)

PC corners the market on FPS, MMORPG, and RTS games.

Consoles corner it on everything else and that is why I own both. Playing Madden on a computer to me is a horrible experience comparable to playing CoD2 on a console. 😛

I played that at a local Wal Mart and felt exactly the same as the OP. I couldn't believe how good it looked.

ditto for me, i grew up w/o a decent computer to play games so i stuck with consoles, they were easier to get growing up, but 2 years ago i finally pulled enough cash together and built my own system, i have sence sold my xbox but i kept several games so when the xb360's come down in price ill grab on and enjoy some more console gaming 😛 i play all the newest stuff on my pc, and helped form the up and coming www.gamegroundz.com, a pc gaming community (not a clan thx)

it really is opinion, i think pc'ers are usually closed minded but console players are happy to try out and use both.

I saw CoD2 at Wal-Mart,

CoD2 at 1920x1200 on my Dell 2405 > CoD2 on the xbox360 any day of the week.

Only really good looking game was PGR3.

Bah I saw the Xbox 360 at an X05 Dev. preview in Toronto and I wasn't all that impressed. A good game rig can produce the same eye candy I saw in all of the games. Wish I had taken pics but I didn't. The HDR lighting was cool but I hope that they can push it more then that ... the best use I saw was in PGR3 and yes it looked nice but it wasn't all that "revolutionary" Hell the Unreal 3 engine is going to blow stuff that I saw there out of the water.

and yes they where using HD LCDs too.

XBOX360, if you have read about the technology in the graphics card, you would know just how powerful the system really is. It's going to be a bitter argument about the Cell and Xeon, respectively, but it terms of graphics chip power the XBOX360 is far-and-away the better system. Look it up. It's also much easier to develop for, so says John Carmack and company.
