Have you actually played it?
Oh, and hate to break it to Xbox fanboys, but that standard DVD format drive is going to come to bite Xbox360 devs in the ass.

You need to visit ign.com and check out some of their info on Gears of War. As one who went to E3 and *played* a number of XBox 360 games, I can tell you that yes, the system *is* "WOW!" and yes, the games look great. Given how good they looked in their early beta stages I can only surmise that they're going to be extraordinary to behold (and hopefully many will have great gameplay as well. Full Auto was AWESOME and a lot of fun!).
In many ways this upcoming generation is far more impressive than any that have come before. The hardware alone is awesome, but more importantly developers are going to be unleashed in ways that have never before been possible. Cheer up, it's going to be an interesting 4-5 years with the new boxes!

graphically, it is ok, but not a leap above the xbox, and gameplay wise...thats a creative aspect.

Well, eventually the graphics will get a lot better, I think. I *told* everyone on a few other forums that all of those older "Xbox360" screenshots were just high resolution PC game shots for games that were likely to be released on both 360 and PC. Now they eat their words.
And as for gameply, Xbox games for the MOST part to me have always been sort of bland. A few bright spots like Ninja Gaiden. But as for gameplay and overall game production I vastly prefer PC and Sony.

launch titles are always 'wow', then mediocre titles come out in loads, and a couple of impressive games every 6 mo.

It's actually about 60% playing and 40% cutscenes. It's an *outstanding* game, one of the system's very best. The MGS series as a whole has some of the best storytelling and character development of any series out there.

Absolutely no idea. Sony and their big guns were trying to muscle Hyndai or Samsung or Kim Jong Il or whoever the hell is doing HD-DVD into joining thte Blu-Ray thing. I think Sony is still planning to put Blu-Ray in the PS3, but Microsoft is more or less forced to just use regular DVDs.
